So after 18 months managing the website and shop it’s time for me to move on to pastures new! I’ve had a great time working at the cave and never has it felt like a ‘real job’. No miserable Sunday evenings dreading work the next day! I’ve worked with and helped some great people and made some very good friends and it’s actually quite sad to say goodbye..

Since the new staff and new way of working the shop has been running like a -sufficiently- well oiled machine. Products have been coming out of the darkness and up for sale daily and goods have been flying out the door faster than we can pack them, sorry if something’s turned up sans packaging. If you haven’t been checking our eBay store you really should! There’s been some cracking deals to be had … Read More →

The post Pick, Pack, Post, Repeat appeared first on Vintage Bike Cave.

Over October Graham has been out buying tons of complete second hand bikes from all over France and the UK. We’ve got mixtes, ladies bikes, racers, tourers you name it we have it! The biggest challenge (aside from selling them) is servicing them all. The guys in the workshop have been flat out replacing cables, tweaking gears, replacing wheels etc.. to get them ready for sale.

Sometimes customers on a budget want to know the best way to get a custom vintage bicycle built up but at a lower cost than what we may charge for a complete custom build. We usually say the best way to go is to buy something from vintage bicycle auctions, ebay or gumtree that needs work done to it. That way you get a frame, some wheels (hopefully good enough … Read More →

The post Vintage Bicycle Auctions appeared first on Vintage Bike Cave.

This cracking Harry Quinn bicycle frame was made by Harry Quinn (surprisingly!) who was a high-end frame builder based out of Liverpool between 1890 and 1990. The company was renamed from Coronet cycles to … Read More →

The post Product Spotlight : Vintage Steel Harry Quinn Bicycle Frame appeared first on Vintage Bike Cave.
